Day 24: Volunteered at the Winter Rendezvous

I used to work at Deep Portage Conservation Reserve.

Every year they host the “Winter Rendezvous,” a day-long event filled with outdoor challenges (tomahawk throwing, snowshoe races, etc.). They always ask the old employees to come back and man a station. I had the Atlatl (Aztec spear thrower), and the snowshoe race stations.

I love this land.

I miss these activities, and working with kids.

And in a sick way, I miss being exposed to the elements.effingawesome
